Planetarium Show

Geer Planetarium at Bellevue College is a special domed-ceiling room where the nighttime sky is accurately reproduced. The planetarium show you will see will consist of two professionally produced segments, “Wonders of the Universe” and “New Horizons”, as well as a live segment introducing the audience to the night sky for that date.

This is a wonderful experience and it is “free”.

The “New Horizons” show follows a comet on a journey throughout the Solar System, our celestial neighborhood. You will witness breathtaking landscapes, violent volcanic eruptions, and the sheer beauty of Saturn’s rings, the planets, and the moons of our solar system. Audiences will travel down to the surface of the planets, and experience what life would be like on those worlds.

In “Wonders of the Universe” the audience will peer deep into space through the eyes of the orbiting Hubble Space Telescope and travel back billions of years in time to witness the birth of the universe. On this breathtaking excursion, you’ll witness the formation of galaxies and explore some of the most wondrous nebulae and astronomical structures yet discovered.

The stars and planets visible above Bellevue will also be discussed so audience members can go home and stargaze from their own backyards.

This show is not recommended for kids under the age of six. Because the room is dark during the show, there is no late admission.
