If you like the rare and unusual or you have problematic shade areas in your garden then Heloniopsis acutifolia is a wonderful choice. It is an attractive evergreen perennial from Asia forming congested rosettes of pale green lance shaped foliage that reaches 6 inches in length and ½ inch in width. A large flower bud begins to form in late winter or early spring which opens to allow the flower spike to extend to around 5 to 7 inches high. The flowers are an enchanting white color that ages to pink. Numerous flowers are held in each flower head, one flower head per stem.

Heloniopsis acutifolia is a currently a rare offering, a botanical collectable. It was found by Bleddyn and Sue Wynn-Jones in Taipingshan, Taiwan. It is a beautiful representative of a relatively obscure genera. Far Reaches Farms has these in 4 inch pots . I have the contact information below for both Far Reaches Farm and Crug Farm Plants which also has this plant available. If you are a plant collector these are people you will want to know and follow, both are very well respected in the industry.
