Solitude in a very diverse botanical garden…Rhody Ridge

Walk and then sit for a while, enjoy a wonderful afternoon.  Rhody Ridge is a unique, hidden, treasure; a botanical park tucked down into the middle of suburbia.  The botanical garden covers 11 acres and has a number of micro climates.  The Rhododendrons are of course gorgeous, but the collection is very diverse.  The Edmonds Community College Horticulture program uses it for its plant id classes.  It is one of the very few Seattle locations you will find a blooming Dove Tree. Both the Rhododendrons and the Dove Tree bloom in early spring so the show is just about ready to begin.  Tours can be arranged by calling (425) 743-3945. This is one of the few parks that is not inundated with visitors year round so enjoy your solitude. This treasure is tucked away so it is not easy to find.  Click the address for a map 17427 Clover Road, Bothell, WA 98011.  Carpooling is the best transpiration option. If you want to explore other parks in the area just click Snohomish Parks.
