Bike Ride from Gas Works Park to Golden Gardens Park
This is a very easy ride from Gas Works Park, a 19.1 acres public park located on the north shore of Lake Union at the south end of the Wallingford neighborhood. There is ample parking if you arrive early. When you leave the parking lot exit left on N 34th Street. Follow the Burke Gillman Trail through to the Ballard Locks. You will pass the locks and follow 54th St to Seaview Dive. The views of Puget Sound are absolutely beautiful and last until you reach Golden Gardens. You will find a wide selection of restaurants in Freemont, or you can purchase sandwiches at the PCC in Freemont and eat along the water. You could also choose to picnic at Golden Gardens. The bike ride is 6 miles one way; it is family friendly and makes a great date ride. If you want something longer you can turn right at the entrance to Gas Works Park and take the Burk Gillman back to its origin at Marymoor Park in Redmond (click Burk Gilman for more ride details). This portion of the trail is approximately 25 miles one way. It is also relatively flat and completely off-road. This ride is also family friendly and it too makes a great date ride.DirectionsYou can use the Metro Online Trip Planner
