Jenn Rawling & Basho Parks Jenn Rawling, songwriter/guitarist and vintage American folk and old-time country singer, joins masterful string player & harmony singer Basho Parks in a partnership of musical talent. Rawling’s playful, poetic lyrics are enhanced by her sophisticated sense of phrasing and pace. Parks’ violin and viola support her message with compelling musical figures that compliment each song. The duo’s debut CD, Take The Air, is a rich recording which unfolds more gifts with each listen. They have been well-received at venues and festivals nationwide over the last year.

Jenn and Basho met in 2010 while contributing their talents to bands around Portland, Oregon.  Rawling composes melodic songs.  Parks sings harmony, but his “voice” is best heard in the form of the his distinctive string-playing, which has a dusty, mournful quality revealing mountain and bluegrass influences. For the last eight months the couple has toured n the United States in support of their debut album Take the Air. Tarantula Arms, their second full length album, is due to be released on the Waterbug record label in early March 2013.
