One in 45 children in America are homeless; that means 1.6 million children are living on our streets.  They are really easy to see when you start looking; you will find homeless children on the streets in the downtown areas of our cities, they are in homeless shelters or motels, or you can find them doubled up with other families.  These numbers come from the National Center on Family Homelessness: The numbers represent a 33% increase from 2007, when there were “just” 1.2 million homeless children.
