Red Nose Day brings us together to have fun and make a difference for kids living in poverty.

In the spirit of raising money to help lift children out of poverty, NBC will again celebrate Red Nose Day with a two-hour television event. The second U.S. annual Red Nose Day special will air Thursday, May 26, 9:00 – 11:00 PM; celebrities and artists from around the world will participate.

M &M’S® is returning as a presenting media sponsor, while Walgreens is serving as the exclusive retailer of the emblematic noses across the U.S.

This Is How Change Takes Place

Money raised will be used to fund programs that address the immediate needs of children and young people living in poverty in the U.S. and throughout the world. Money will be split between domestic and international poverty issues.

Last year’s very first U.S. Red Nose Day special raised over $23 million and was split among 12 domestic and international charities.

Red Nose Day has been an enormously popular event in the U.K. for 30 years and is an inspiring cultural phenomenon, a pheromone that unites people from all walks of life in the interest of saving and changing children’s lives across the globe.

  1. That’s so cool, didn’t know the US was so new to Red Nose Day! Hope you enjoy it as much as it’s enjoyed over here – it’s generally always a fun day, especially with children seeing as I work in a school.

  2. Sadly this is relatively new for us here in the states.

  3. I have to say I have never heard of this wonderful initiative. I wonder if it is in Canada? I shall be on the listen for it for sure!

  4. I’ve never heard of it but I sure do like the idea! The little girls are adorable.

    • This has been a big thing in England for some time, I think the U.S. has only taken this on for the last couple of years. Walgreen pharmacies was a big sponsor this year and really pushed it hard through social media.
