So let’s get the claim of “Cradle Of Innovation” out of the way first. Most American cities have not seen new technologies, or discernible business innovation since early in the twentieth century. During the last twenty five years Seattle has ushered in the software revolution that then made the internet possible, and it is home to American business disrupters like Amazon, Costco, and Starbucks. Our innovation in the last century was not the automobile; it was to play a major role in maned flight. OK, let’s move on.

Problem & Out-Of-The-Box Solution

Seattle and Puget Sound is now struggling with Global Warming in the form of ongoing drought and the added crisis of income inequality.  Seattle, the home of out-of-the-box thinking” and problem solving has introduced an innovative solution set to make a major dent in both problems.

Transportation is one of the major drivers that impacts both family budgets and the individual addition to the global warming issue. The Solution In the past has been individually driven cars.

Costs Of The Old Method Choice

On May 9, 2014 (these numbers are now a year old) AAA released the results of its annual ‘Your Driving Costs’ study revealing the cost to own and operate a car in the U.S. to be between 45 cents and 75 cents per mile, or $7,000 to $11,000 annually (compact to SUV), based upon 15,000 miles of annual driving. This does not include the cost of parking (add at least another $1,000 to your cost total), and tolls here in the Seattle Area.

By eliminating my car and using the Seattle Stretch Limo Service I gave myself a $10,000 pay increase in 2015.  I am expecting to give myself that same bonus or pay increase in 2016.

Carbon Footprint: Global Warming

If you walk, bike, or fill up a seat that’s already going your way your additional impact on global warming is Zero. Typically the emission from your car adds 2 to 7 tons of CO2 emissions each year.  If you catch a ride with the Seattle Stretch Limo Service you add zero additional emissions, you become part of the solution for global warming.

Down Sides & Benefits

I will grant you that if you are understated in your approach to life the color schemes for our stretch limos are a bit garish, and riding in one of Seattle’s Stretch Limos Service literally shouts to the world I’ve arrived which may not be your style.  On the positive side of the ledger you can read while your driver transports you, or you can transact business (I answer all my e-mails uninterrupted).  I would also note that in the past two years I have never seen anyone try to crowd one of these very large stretch limos off the road, or exchange unpleasantries with my driver. I have never seen one of these vehicles even hit by one of the little single passenger cars; uneventful can be nice.

  1. We’re having a great time getting acquainted with public transportation here in Eugene now that we’ve moved into town. Nothing like as good as Seattle of course, but we’re still loving it’s ready availability.
